POWERTRAIN

13.0 L Scania Engine

The D3 is equipped with a Scania 13.0-liter engine generating 410 horsepower and producing an impressive torque of 2150 Nm. Scania is renowned for its reliable, durable, and robust powertrain, which complies with Euro 6 emission standards. The engine offers flexibility as it can run on a choice of biodiesel, diesel, or HVO fuel types.

Full Disc Brake System

The D3 is equipped with Scania’s comprehensive full disc brake system. This advanced braking technology ensures efficient and reliable stopping power, enhancing passenger safety and overall vehicle performance. It offers precise control and consistent braking performance, contributing to the bus's overall safety and reliability on the road.

SAFETY

Anti-Lock Braking System

The Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) prevents the wheels from locking up during hard braking situations. With ABS, the vehicle’s stopping distance is significantly reduced, even capable of performing well in wet, icy and uneven road conditions.

Hill Hold System

The D3 includes hill hold system which is a safety feature designed to prevent the vehicle from rolling backward on an incline when the driver releases the brake pedal. It temporarily engages the brakes, allowing the driver to transition smoothly from the brake to the accelerator without the risk of rolling backward on hills or slopes.

The D3 consist of tagged rear-wheel steering which involves the use of an additional set of wheels at the rear of the vehicle that can be steered independently to improve manoeuvrability. This technology enhances the bus's ability to navigate tight corners and congested urban areas, making it more agile and efficient.

Automatic Transmission

The Scania K-Chassis offers the choice of equipping the vehicle with the advanced 6-speed fully automatic ZF Ecolife 2 transmission. ZF's latest iteration of the 6-speed automatic transmission features a meticulously engineered, weight optimised, and durable design that delivers swift and comfortable gearshifts, resulting in a superior level of smoothness and performance.

Rear Wheel Steering

ELS System

The D3 benefits from Scania’s full air suspension with electronic level control system (ELC). This ensures consistent optimal ride height under changing incline and recline conditions. Additionally, it offers total raising or lowering of chassis height in the front or the whole side, facilitating safer access for passengers.

410L Fuel Tank Capacity

The bus can be equipped with a generous 410 litre fuel tank, ensuring extended travel range and reduced refuelling frequency, which is especially advantageous for long-distance journeys and transportation efficiency. This substantial fuel capacity minimises downtime and enhances operational convenience for the bus.

Electronic Speed Limiter

The Electronic Speed Limiter is specially designed to control and limit the maximum speed in which the Bus can travel at. The electronic speed limiter promotes safer driving, mitigating the risks of exceeding speed limits.

Traction Control System

The D3 features Scania’s traction control system which integrates sophisticated technology designed to optimise traction and stability during operation. It uses sensors to monitor wheel speed and detects any wheel slip. By selectively applying brakes and adjusting engine power, it ensures the bus maintains grip on the road, enhancing safety and performance.

Air Suspension

The D3 sits on Scania's comprehensive air suspension system, which provides outstanding passenger comfort while maintaining optimal passenger capacity. The newly introduced independent front suspension enhances the overall ride experience, offering a sensation akin to floating and effectively dampening the vibrations generated by various road conditions.

Brake Pad Wear Indicator

A brake pad wear monitor can be included in the D3. It is vital safety feature that continuously measures the thickness of the brake pads. It provides real-time data to alert drivers and maintenance personnel when the brake pads reach a critical wear level, ensuring timely replacement and optimal braking performance, enhancing passenger safety.

Blind Spot Monitoring

The D3 can be equipped with a blind spot monitor, enhancing safety for passengers and pedestrians.
